But sure, I'll give it a whirl :) I'm supposed to be making some icons for someone who's beta-ing a fic for me atm, but I promise to get right on it as soon as that's done :)

I'm resisting the urge to spill all the fangirly theories I have, but basically I think that Billy wouldn't have been happy with Penny, but that Penny and Hammer would have been. I believe that relationships are about growth and that P / B has less growth potential than P / H.

I'm not anti-P / B, it just doesn't seem to me like it would work out. There's no happy endings, eh?

Hmm, I sort of agree - it's a very one-sided love, and I can't see Penny being at all happy with Billy being evil, and in turn Billy being unhappy at their relationship not being how he dreamt.
I think that's what I like about it though - as much as Billy loves her there is a darker, obsessive, edge to it, and it's pretty much doomed to never work.

Yeah, you can see why I always write angst... xD

I'm not sure how well Penny and Hammer would work out though - Hammer is extremely self-absorbed, and by So They Say it seems like Penny isn't conviced he's so perfect.

Then again, the Blog is all from Billy's POV, which is rather subjective. After all, at the end of the day, he did chose to become a hero, whereas Billy chose to become a villain. I like writing things like that in fics, making Billy darker and Hammer more likeable and sympathetic.

I feel like Phantom of the Opera and Dr. Horrible have plenty o' similarities. Huge Erik 'shipper but not a Raoul hater myself, I see both POVs. I can agree with the POV you have for Penny and Horrible. Penny is my favorite Horrible character. I've got multitudinous theories about her, about Hammer--to keep it slightly succinct I'll say I think the government created him. I think that he's not really sure about what to do...he knows that he's supposed to do good. I think that Penny regains faith that supers can do good because Hammer saved her and showed interest in real change. I just love the notions that spring to mind with Penny orchestrating real change, Hammer growing into his role as a hero and his role as a person...Billy just seems like he needs to read Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and develop some self-esteem.

Don't get me wrong in that heffalump sized paragraph, I do love Billy / Horrible. The very last shot of him at minimum waters my eyes. But I just enjoy Penny / Hammer more.

Oooo, you have some awesome Hammer theories :) I can't wait for your fanfic100 fics - I love seeing a different side to characters that you don't see in canon. Never thought about the government creating him, but it definitely sounds plausible. I love the idea of him knowing he's supposed to do good but not really sure how or why.

Just one thing - I've only seen season 1 of Dollhouse, and I've still got a few episodes of Firefly and Serentity left to watch. So at the moment I can't icon anything from after Ariel in Firefly, or series two of Dollhouse.

I don't even know if you'd want icons from those fandoms, but I thought I'd get in there quickly in case you said something like "Ooo, can I have an icon of where so-and-so DIES? Or where you find out it's all a DREAM? Or when thingymajig turns EVIL?" Don't want to be spoiled, haha xD

So I can't ask for an icon where Mal wakes up as a magical girl in Firefly episode 22? Oops, crap. ;)
