Writer's Block: Book worms unite!
[Error: unknown template qotd]
Ohhh, that's hard.

Favourites (in no particular order):
  • Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, by Haruki Murakami - This book is amazing. Murakami is one of my all time favourite authors and this is the first book I read by him. It's amazing, I've read it so many times.
  • His Dark Materials, by Phillip Pullman - Okay, it's three books but I'm counting it as one. These books are brilliant. I wish I had a daemon... Also I like the digs at the church ;) Oh, and it's set in Oxford (well, bits of it are in Oxford, or at least a parallel universe Oxford) which is about ten miles from where I live :)
  • Kit's Wilderness, by David Almond - We read Skellig (also by Almond) at primary school (I think I was about 10 at the time), and because I enjoyed that so much my Dad bought me Kit's Wilderness. I've read it so many times since. I love the way it mixes the stories of the mines and the story Kit's writing in with the "reality" of the book.
Not sure if I have three least favourite books. If I don't like a book I tend to forget about it. I didn't really like We Need To Talk About Kevin though... I'd heard it was really good and I just couldn't get into it. I didn't like or care about any of the characters, and I had to force myself to finish it. The end was pretty good though, I didn't see it coming at all.
