Home

Moist groaned as he heard the apartment door open. He hated it when the threesome came here for the night; they were so noisy and he never got any sleep.

There was some loud shushing, followed by giggles. Great. They were drunk. He wasn’t going to tell them to quiet down, though, not after that one time he did and saw Captain Hammer pressed against the wall with Billy doing… things to him. Moist was happy for his friend, but still. TMI.

Sighing, he reached over to his bedside table and thanked God for the invention of waterproof MP3 players.

Love

Once again, Penny lay awake in the darkness between the two men; Captain Hammer’s arm slung casually over her waist while Billy curled up close to her, his head resting on her shoulder.

“Billy?” she whispered. “Captain Hammer?”

Satisfied they were both really asleep, she leaned forward and pressed a kiss against Billy’s forehead. “I love you,” she said quietly. She rolled over and gently kissed Captain Hammer’s cheek. “I love you, too.”

She sighed, and once again made the promise she’d made every night for the last month. “One day, I’ll have the courage tell you when you’re awake.”

Anniversary

“This is delicious,” Billy said through a mouthful of spaghetti.

Penny took a sip of her wine. “It really is,” she smiled.

Billy grinned at Captain Hammer, who was halfway through his third pizza. “Good choice.”

“Told you I know the best restaurants.”

“I love you two,” Penny said softly. “This is a wonderful anniversary.”

Captain Hammer winked. “I know how to make it better.” He stood up and whispered “Meet me in the bathroom in five minutes.”

Billy gaped as he sauntered off. “He’s not suggesting we…”

“It’s a stupid idea,” Penny agreed.

“Although…”

“Yeah, I’m right behind you.”

Future

“I think I’m moving out.”

Moist looked up from his cornflakes. “What?”

Billy shrugged awkwardly. “Well, Captain Hammer sort of asked me and Penny to move in with him.”

“Are you going to?”

Billy shrugged again. “I feel bad about leaving you… Could you afford the rent by yourself?”

“Dude, it’s fine.” Moist took another mouthful of cereal. “You don’t bring much money in anyway. If you want to live with them, well, I’m happy for you.”

“Are you sure?” Billy asked anxiously.

“Yeah. Plus, I’d get a decent night’s sleep once in a while.”

Billy blushed, and Moist laughed.

Surprise

“I got you a present,” Billy whispered to her shyly.

Penny smiled up at him. “You didn’t need to do that. What’s the occasion?”

“Just… because.” He blushed.

Penny squeezed his hand. “Thank you.” She tore off the tissue paper to reveal a silver locket, a rose carefully engraved on the case. “Oh, Billy,” she breathed. “It’s so beautiful.”

“How come I don’t get a present?” Captain Hammer grumbled from the other side of the bed.

Billy rolled his eyes at Penny before turning to Captain Hammer and kissing him firmly on the lips. “Happy now?”

“Very,” Captain Hammer grinned.
