So this probably means nothing to most of you, apart from maybe [ profile] placeofinsanity , but this is SO exciting you have no idea.
I only got URU after UL had died, and although now and again there were rumours it'd come back, it looked lke it was gone for good. And I was pretty heartbroken.
BUT I'll finally get a chance to play Myst with other people!! And it's free!! And they'll be other people who care about Myst, not like everyone else I know who've never even heard of it!!

I need to re-read the books....

Riven + Vista = Fail :(

So, I completed Myst in a day, which makes me feel like a genius - the first time I played it it took me FOREVER. I guess I'm just a lot more used to how the Myst puzzles work from playing the other games, I felt like I understood the puzzles a lot better this time. Plus although I didn't remember the ages very well, once I got there I remembered things (like "Isn't there a hallway between these two rooms?"),which helped.

Complaining about Riven/Vista ahoy! )
I feel: frustrated

So, I've had a sudden urge to play Myst again (I wonder why that it.... ;) ). Which is easier said than done, because it's an OOOLD game, and I have Vista, which, of course, is incompatible with Myst. Anyway, I've finally got it working, yay! It only took installing, uninstalling quicktime, reinstalling quicktime, unistalling Myst, reinstalling Myst, rebooting the computer, uninstalling quicktime and Myst, reinstalling Myst and the quicktime that came with Myst, uninstalling Myst, running quicktime in safe mode, reinstalling Myst and running Myst with fewer colours, a lower screen res and disabling visual themes.
I hate Vista sometimes.
Oh, and I had to install a really old version of quicktime to get Myst working (otherwise I could hear the game but not see anything), which means my iTunes doesn't work. Of course. But I don't care! Myst is working!! Yay!!
